French Fireplace Medallion

This antique piece from France was originally a garden entrance, and the client wanted to accent it with an organic piece that would be at home in nature. In the arched niche above the firebox, a background of cay cay and abalone shells highlights a medallion mixing minerals, shells, and even fossils. Neutral colors with a pop of peach play up the color of the stone.
