Memory Columns

Create your own memory jar or time capsule! This outdoor installation consists of petrified wood, geodes, quartz crystals, specimen rocks, fossils and shells along with many items that I recovered with an area urban archaeologist. The rocks give the piece a wonderful organic feel that complements the area it was installed in. The sand in the soil where the items where recovered and the lead in the glass that was present in glass prior to 1917 creates a beautiful iridescent quality to the glass items. Many recovered metal items, bottles, door knobs, rouge pots and just about anything you can imagine, including a metal bike pedal from the early 1900s, are included in this creation!
